GeoServer 1.7.5 has just been released. Most of the changes and improvements are designed to improve the use of GeoServer in a production environment: - An administrator can now control the resources (time and/or memory) used by each WMS request.
- JNDI Connection Pools are also now supported for DB2 and Oracle databases.
- "Features pre-generalized datastore extension" allows vector data to be stored in a data pyramid, significantly speeding up WMS requests for large datasets or those with geometries consisting of large numbers of coordinates.
- Chart extension allows business charts to overlain on top of WMS maps
- Service-based installer for Windows - allows GeoServer to run like a standard Windows service.
- >40 bug fixes
