MapQuest have just announced an iPhone version of their MapQuest 4 Mobile application. This application performs the usual consumer mobile map activities: eg. find places, give directions, locate "landmarks" (fast food, etc). It has been available as a free product for Blackberry users since September, but this announcement increases competition in the currently very popular "iPhone consumer mapping" product niche.
