Version 1.1 of the MapFish open source framework has been released. Server-side enhancements include a Rails plug-in, vector & PDF layers for the Java print module; and client-side enhancements include context menus, print action, and Google Earth integration. MapFish is a modern, extensible mapping application framework that consists of two parts: MapFish Client and MapFish Server. The client is written in JavaScript and based on OpenLayers. The serverhas interfaces for Python, Java, and PHP. It can be used as a standalone application or as a part of an existing web application.
